This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Broken Vows designed from a painting by Philip Hermogenes Calderon shows a beautiful woman, although married, who had been having an affair with her lover who is on the other side of the fence. However, by chance she happens to go by the fence and overhears him openly flirting with another woman, which is the equivalent of infidelity all around. She has started to feel faint and there is a look of anguish on her face as she stands by the fence that even has his initials carved on it. The necklace he had given her has fallen out of her hand onto the ground, and the flowers near her have withered and died which symbolizes the shallowness and betrayal of her relationship with him and the betrayal on her part to her husband, and she means nothing to her lover now. Her raven tresses are shielded with a scarf, and she wears a jacket with a white blouse ruffled at the cuffs and printed violet-colored skirt. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. Instead, we only use an abundance of solid colors to produce a more realistic effect.
