This waterscape counted cross stitch pattern entitled Mouth of the Delaware designed from a painting by Thomas Birch shows a collection of various types and sizes of vessels from rowboats, midsize boats to ships small and large on the open sea just at the mouth of the Delaware River. The green and black waves are churning and the sky looks ominous indicating an impending storm with the wind making it difficult for crews to navigate their ships. Life on the ocean can be both perilous yet beautiful. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
