This fine art counted cross stitch pattern entitled Castel dell' Ovo, Naples designed from a painting by Carlo Bonavia shows a waterscape of the city of Naples with the ancient castle in view on the waters.  The name Castel dell Ovo actually means "egg castle." Legend has it that the castle was named after an egg of the Siren Partenope which had been kept hidden under the castle to bring its inhabitants good luck and fortune had it not been tampered with and disturbed.  The view of the castle is breathtaking with the faint glow of sunset filtering in as fishermen in their boats are eager to fulfill their quota for the day.  Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
