This fine art vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled Steam Locomotive shows a vintage shiny black locomotive with plumes of black smoke billowing into the air as it rounds the bend through the countryside. Its motion is being propelled by the expansion of steam which is created by boiling combustible materials in the water that will produce steam. Steam locomotives were phased out by the 1960's, but it's still great to look at this vintage beauty and remember what life used to be when riding on this type of train. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
