This vintage counted cross stitch pattern entitled Rosebuds designed from a painting by Jessie Wilcox Smith shows a little girl picking roses that have fallen to the ground from a heavily laden shrub. She is placing the roses in a basket to take home to perhaps put in a vase or make a crown of flowers to wear in her hair. She is dressed in her Sunday best all in white. The roses range in color from light pink to medium pink to cream. Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
