This Irish counted cross stitch pattern entitled Gleninagh Castle in Ireland shows the famous castle that is located in County Clare, Ireland. Being well-known for its L-shaped structure, it was built in the 16th century and it's parish contains the lighthouse on Black Head. The powerful O'Loughlin family who resided in the castle and made it a formidable fortress, controlled all of North Clare up until the 19th century. The castle stands tall on a hill with blue skies behind it and the vast whiteness of clouds. This would make a wonderful stitch! Only full cross stitches are used in our patterns. No blended colors are used. We only use an abundance of solid colors as it produces a more realistic effect.
