They seem to be intent on going to visit a relative or loved one as one child is carrying a bouquet of flowers while the mother is carrying a basket of food, perhaps, to eat along the way. Or, they possibly could be searching for just the right spot to settle down for a picnic in the grass. We may never know for sure, but it does create a pleasant family picture and is worthy of a place in your home where warmth and kindness are projected from this scene.
